The ALL NIGHT FLIGHT returns to Big Ears 2019 for 12 hours of continuous drone and ambient music. ALL NIGHT FLIGHT is free and open to all Big Ears passholders and $10 for general public.

ALL NIGHT FLIGHT: DREAMS OF THE WHIRLWIND is a 12 hour long durational experience where musicians will create a thread of drone and ambient music that will morph and evolve from midnight on Saturday night until noon on Sunday.

Between Pauline Oliveros’ deep listening, heavyweights Sunn O))), Lou Reed’s DRONES, Laraaji’s laughter meditation, and the pulses and phases of Steve Reich’s music, Big Ears has championed drone and meditative music over the years. With ALL NIGHT FLIGHT, the festival takes it to the next level with a 12 hour durational event.
 
There’s a sacred element to drone through which performers and listeners can tap into the euphoric, the meditative, the spiritual, and even the hallucinatory. Sound will shift, morph, and evolve over the course of the night into the morning. Join us in this immersive experience that is sure to push the boundaries of time and music.
 
We encourage you to bring pillows, yoga mats, sleeping bags, blankets, snacks – whatever necessary to keep you comfortable during the ALL NIGHT FLIGHT. Patrons are welcome to lie down, rest up, zone out, sleep, stay awake, and take in this communal experience.
